6 Pota­toes
2 Onions, finely chopped
1 Green pep­per, finely chopped
250 Brown Mush­rooms, roughly chopped
A knob of but­ter
1 Cup Ched­dar cheese, grated
12 Cup bil­tong
Salt to taste


3 Table­spoons May­on­naise
2 Table­spoons Sweet Chili Sauce

Mix the mayo and chili sauce together.

Method I find this recipe very hard to make, as I find it to be a real test of willpower not to eat all the bil­tong before the salad is ready. So, there­fore, make sure you buy more than enough bil­tong before you make this very tasty salad.
potatoes Peel, dice and boil the pota­toes. Add salt to taste. Pour the sauce over the pota­toes and mix well.Set the pota­toes aside.
onions_green_pepper_and_mushrooms Heat the knob of but­ter in a pot and then add the the finely chopped onions,green pep­per and mush­rooms. Cook untill the onions become translucent.
finished_salad Mix the pota­toes with the cooked onions, pep­per and mush­rooms. Sprin­kle the cheese on top, and then what you have left of the bil­tong, sprin­kle on top of that.
